In the beginning, you must get a bachelor’s level degree. It’s helpful if there is pre-med coursework. This will help educate you on the foundations of medicine. You will be able to show medical schools that you really want to pursue medicine, and help you with connections. After passing the test and passing the exam, you’ll get admitted to the next four years of medical school.

Medical school is a tough piece of cake. If you get there, you’re still not finished. If you decide to pursue a specialization in dermatology, you’ll have to complete four more years of dermatology residency. This is where you receive your training on the job as you begin learning in depth here.

After you’ve finished your residency you can apply for fellowships and other opportunities to specialize. Or, you can start practicing right away. There are many options.
